My college roommate rowed crew and qualified for the Olympics, but I still never really GOT IT, and certainly not the metaphorical impact of it, until now, thanks to the persistence and brilliance of your vision, Caryn!Now I can see and feel and smell this huge powerful ocean wave we’re in —and find that it finally cleanses those poisonous patriarchal fears: that the gifts I want to share are a burden to others—that silencing my Goddess-given voice is somehow generous and helpful to other women (even as I so much crave and need other women’s voices!! how crazy is that!?! ) —that only scarcity births value —that the world won’t miss my work if I don’t do it! Aaaaaaayyyyyyyiiiii yiiiiiii!!!
