What gets me up at 4am in the morning
I have had the divine feminine app over a decade. Without formal advertising, 3 people a day have found it, about 12,000 have registered, email list is clean and nurtured, and it goes out to 6000 with about a 35-40% open rate. I used to put pretty much all the events and information on there myself, but these days, probably 90-95% are put on by the hosts themselves, and I hear feedback about all the connections that it has formed over the past decade and that it is regularly brings participants to their Circles, events, retreats and more.
But I noticed over the years that majority of women in the app are passionate about this work/subject so have been trying to figure out ways to better ‘reach the masses’ – those not so familiar with ‘Herstory’ (plus we’re all overrun with emails and so harder and harder to reach inboxes).
#Goddess101Texts
That’s how #Goddess101Texts has come about – texting out one inspirational education tidbit of ‘Herstory’ per day (my son gave me the idea: “Mom, text is the new email.” ) Text ‘join’ to 256-815-0760 to join (‘stop’ to stop, it’s free and sorry, U.S. only as international texting a thing, but can see the texting on our blog here.)
… these upcoming generations are the ones who are going to shift the world.
I feel very passionate about this. How important it is to ‘change the narrative’ See newsletter about Barbara Walker amazing FOREMOTHER who worked DECADES on her encyclopedia and other books – the New York Times wrote an article about her recent passing which had her feminist spirituality work as an afterthought, it focused on her knitting. If you google her, you will see the same.

#theNinthWave #theWomenAreComing Collaboration
So there’s the App and there’s the new texting venture. But at the same time, I’ve seen the need for different ways of disseminating information in a tech world full of different offerings, how do we do that … personal connections. Hence #theNinthWave collaboration came about.
It initially came to me as I thought about all the women/organizations I know who have cultivated these amazing communities. I thought well if you have 9000 you’re emailing, and I have 9000 I’m emailing, and we get together 9 of us, that’s 81,000.
I quickly figured out that was ambitious. There are women who have been doing this work for decades who for this reason or that don’t have a big newsletter. Heck mine really only hits about 3000 eyes each week.
But the idea was solid. Putting together nine women/organizations on a ‘Launch’ (ship) … and then we ROW together. Towards that Ninth Wave (celtic mythology that once you get beyond the ‘ninth wave’ bigger, stronger … you are in … the Land of the Women.) (Kate Bush has an awesome album by the same name, check it out.)
What does ‘ROWING’ mean? Different things to different people – maybe it’s sharing/commenting on a social post, reading a book of one of your teammates and then sharing it, mentioning in their newsletter, talking about to others –throwing some energy behind the other women rowing in your outrigger. All the women in there have done some ‘work’ over the years. They are an amazing bunch. These are the women I would want to be stranded on a desert island with! Official list here.
We’ve sent out Four Launches (boats/outriggers) and are filling up the Fifth. No cost to join although I do ask if you can, you become a member of the app. I am also a firm believer that where your money goes, your love goes. And this work is important. Next belief, sliding scales. So I don’t push it. But we each give in whatever manner we can.
And of course, at the end of the day, we get what we give.
And finally, how do we put it all together?
Hinneh BEHOLD! the divine feminine library
I have been using a closed proprietary system to do the texts. There are three areas in Hinneh: first feeding with blog sites like Feminism and Religion, YouTube channels, podcasts, pdf’s … work that helps shift this paradigm to one of partnership.
The second is the Foremother area, and I’m working on getting in there Foremother work such as Barbara Walker’s. These women were (are) pioneers – forging New Pathways that have made it easier for the rest of us. And not only should they be recognized and honored for setting off on these paths, but we also need to be sure their work is preserved.
Last area: Witchcraft.
None of this will be public until a means to pay the copyrighted information has been put into place, and there is a legal document saying this. If you want to contribute, reach out.
None of this actually pays my bills btw. I have a full time remote job that I do during the day. Plus four children and two ex-husbands.
But this is what gets me up in the morning. 4am.
Rowing.

I love how you’ve cultivated such a beautiful and organic community over the years! The shift to incorporating #Goddess101Texts is such a great move—texts definitely feel more immediate and personal. It’s a wonderful way to engage those who might not be as familiar with the work you’re doing.
