there is a place within you that cannot be shaken
no matter how loud the world becomes
and that place is here
that place is now
that place is you

Rise with the Fire by Starhawk
We can rise with the fire of freedom,
Truth is the fire that burns our chains,
And we can stop the fire of destruction,
Healing is the fire running through our veins.

Gina Martin is the High Priestess of Triple Spiral of Dun na Sidhe. I recommend highly her books and her music. Through my work over the years, I have been fortunate to meet women the world over doing the work of the Goddess. An army of women, rooted in love and power. Healing and changing the world.

Sekhmet: The Powerful One
Of the numerous leonine deities worshipped by the Ancient Egyptians, Sekhmet was one of the most powerful and the most feared.
Destruction and protection.
The name Sekhmet, ‘The Powerful One’ has its origins in teh distant past before humans appeared. Her name refers to the manifestations of power diffused througout the universe, as defined at Zep Tepi, The First Time, the moment that separated preexistence from the ongoing, continuous process of cyclical time.
- Heart of the Sun: An Anthology in Exaltation of Sekhmet Edited by Candace C. Kant and Anne Key

It’s believed that around 730 statues most carved with grandiorite of the goddess Sekhmet were created during the reign of Amenhotep III : the ninth pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty whose reign began in 1391 BC. He is most notable for his diplomatic skill, generosity, and ability to create strong alliances with foreign powers. The thirty-eight years of Amenhotep III’s rule are largely considered to be a Golden Age during the 18th dynasty of ancient Egypt.
