A Super Charged New Moon: an Eclipse and the Beginning of the Powerful Fire Horse Year

It’s the End of the World as We Know It
and I feel fine

Here comes the Sun. the Age of Aquarius

I should have posted this yesterday, but oh well. (To those who got this on #Goddess101Texts sorry for the double post today!! I really meant to send this one today but did not get to it in time. And welcoming feedback. I am enjoying doing this, disseminating the wisdom of womyn and organizations I have garnished through the divine feminine app over the years … Caryn MacGrandle )

And I admit that sometimes my timing is a tad off as I am juggling so many things.

But we are still in the energy of this potent start of a new Cycle. Have you recognized it?

And I wanted to encourage you, if you have not, to do a Circle.

I have been doing Circles for over a dozen years, let’s make it thirteen.

We are cyclical creatures us Womyn following the Sun, the Moon, the Seasons.

And when you work with this wisdom, the world falls into place more easily.

The picture is of my neighbor pushing 90.  I love her.  She is tough, spirited, kind and has seen a different world.

I moved into this house a bit over three years ago, and pretty much every New Moon and Full Moon, we cross paths.

Is this intentional?

Most likely not intentional for her.  But her cells know.

I am sure she thinks of me as the Hippy who lives next door drumming and singing and laughing, a somewhat chaotic yard full of cats.  A year or two back in January, she made sure to tell me that her daughter told her about ‘grounding’.

Mind you as an avid gardener, she has always known ‘grounding’ but now she has a word for it. Getting her hands and her feet into the soil, the sun, the wind …

She even bought some  moccasins so during the cold she can go to the backyard and  feel the Earth.

Yesterday, I go out to my backyard to recharge in between business calls.  I watch my black cats chase each other up the tree.  I look over and catch my neighbor in the glimpse of my eye.

I have not seen much of her lately and think to myself that I should say hello, but decide not to as I only have a few minutes to center myself before starting work again.

So I move inward a bit out of her line of sight.  I put my forehead on the ground, and I breathe smelling the Earth and relaxing into it.

I get up to return back in, and I look over, and there is my neighbor stirring a cauldron: the smoke billowing up, the good smell in the air.

I laugh.

We are all Witches at Heart, We Women, Aren’t We.

I go say hello and chat a moment.  She is burning pine needles.

Burning away the old.  Starting anew.

Again and again, we do this.

Later after my workday, my partner and I do a New Moon Circle.  It is quite simple.

We burn some herbs to center ourselves and bring ourselves into this moment.

We do the directions to acknowledge opposites and bring us into the eternal contained and powerful Circle inviting in our Ancestors and Benevolent presences.

We do a meditation to quiet our monkey mind and slip into a state of altered consciousness.

We draw cards.

I have been drawing cards for years.  I prefer to do this for myself.  I meditate on them, reading the description but seeing what jumps out to me.

Learning to listen to the Divinity inside.

Past present and future from the Druid Craft Tarot on of my favorite decks I return to frequently  – a reversed Magician for the past feeling stuck and blocked, a Queen of the Cups for the present basking in my loving, maternal intuition and one of my favorite cards of all times for the Future:  Star.  You have made it. This is who you wish to be.

I pull two cards for overriding themes:  the Box from Womanrunes Molly Remer and Shekhinah Mountainwater.  Is it confinement or stability and boundaries?  I know the answer to that.

And Bloudeuwedd – Flower Face a wonderful mythical story of reclaiming your Wild and not be contained or ruled from Celtic Goddesses, Witches, and Queens by Danu Forest and Dan Goodfellow.

My challenge card is Khadíjah The Mother of Believers from Megan Watterson the Divine Feminine Oracle Guidebook.  Khadíjah was a widow in Saudi Arabia in the 6th Century.  An amazing story of carving your own way,

Khadíjah is the power we all possess to be aware of the spiritual realm and fully immersed in the material world.  Khadíjah bint Khuwaylid was a widow in Saudi Arabia in the 6th Century. She became  a wealthy merchant who was deeply respected and known as al-Tahira, the Pure One, or al-Kubra, the Great.  It is said that with her wealth, she fed the poor, provided for her children from her fist two marriages and took care of her extended family.

Yes, not being constrained by the boxes this world has put us into but instead turning them into protective containers that we can stand firmly rooted in.

A theme emerges as it always does.

I listen.

We then each take a few minutes to say what is on our mind.

A Circle I did recently, a first-timer said, ‘I don’t know what it is like to actually say what I think as I never get to actually do that in the ‘real world’.

Let’s make a world where we have these safe spaces, these ‘containers’ to say what we actually think, to learn what we actually think …

My partner and I set some intentions.

Astrologers consider eclipses to be ‘accelerators of destiny’ shifting things that could have taken years into a matter of months.

What would you like to shift?

Build your container.
