The time has come, as it does in many women’s lives who leave their husband’s, to figure out how to even out my income and expenses.
Been listening to a lot of Abraham-Hicks which is great and all, except that was the precursor to bottoming out last week is that I was listening to this story of this women who had this thought ‘I should make a movie in [two different countries]. She did not spend a lot of time on it, just told a few different people. Lo and behold, the phone call comes, would you make a movie in [those two countries].
Had this feeling that while mulling it over and waiting on that phone call, she was not applying for Food Stamps and picturing herself on the street homeless. That’s just fear. I get it. But a whole lot of people have a very cushy safety net between that happening. And a lot of people just have some rice paper in between.
I do have a decent amount of time before that happens. It’s all perspective, right. I know many who have way more money and worry even more. And many who have way less, and worry less. I probably fall smack in the middle. I have one degree, graduate level MBA courses. And I’m working on that belief in myself.
Trying to figure out what it is I want to do when I grow up.
The only thing is that I no longer want to give my entire life to a job. Also from looking around I see that the good companies, the ones that treat their employees with care and compassion are few and far between and hard to get into. The picture is from CommentSold – great isn’t it!
And spent about 30 minutes on the phone with an employee who was sharing what an incredible company this is. But they have an incredibly long vetting process to weed out the ‘assholes’, and they are not currently hiring.
This is part of the New World we are building. Jobs that make sense. Companies that treat their employees well. Figuring out how to live so it is not just ‘make more, spend more’ but putting money in its place … and giving more and more people that safety net so they have a bit of time to do so.
